Philadelphia Film Festival
From April 5-18, Philadelphia will be hosting its annual film festival. Most of these films will probably never make any high notoriety than this festival, but that doesn't mean that they should all be ignored. Some are definitely not meant for the general public, while others are made by sexual lusting perverts. The main idea is for no namers to get their names out there. Here is a few movies that seem quite interesting:
American Fork-from the creators of Napoleon Dynamite, comes the story of an obese grocery store worker who sets out on his dream to become an actor.
Bothersome Man- about a young man sent into a world of bizarre occurrences and everyday rituals.
Consequences- An annual weekend football get away in Philadelphia about five old friends, whose lives take a miserable turn for the worst in this sex-crazed, underground world of Philly.
Curse of William Penn- takes a look at the frustrated lives of Philadelphia fans and their hard luck over the recent years.
Dante's Inferno- cardboard cut-out view of a modern day Dante's Inferno.
Dead Daughters- International horror film sensation from Russia, about three vengeful female spirits.
End of the Line- a group of strangers unites in an effort to escape blood-crazy Christian cult-members in a subway chamber fueled by apocalyptic fever.
Fair Play- careerism gone wrong in this corporate way of life, where the action takes place in a natural setting of cliffs and waterfalls where it is much easier to get revenge on your co-worker.
Feel- A sexy view on the lives of four men who lives are all connected through an Asian massage parlor they all seek out on the same day to fill their emotional spaces.
Mojave Phone Booth- based on true events, a film about a phone booth in south Nevada that serves as an otherworldly support system of mystifiyng sorts.
Princess- a Danish film about a priest who seeks revenge on pornographers who exploited his dead sister.
Red Road- in the not so distant future, everyone is monitored by the government to ensure the safety of the society. A government employee must confront a man who has resurfaced from the past.
Severance- A British horror film that lives up to its promises.
Slumming- a twisted road of events occur for two young slackers, after a cruel, practical joke is played on a drunk homeless guy.

Hills Have Eyes 2: Horrible
I like to apologize to my friends for making them see this movie. That is how I will begin this review. Let me remind you of the graphic, disturbing, and some what interesting plot of the first one. It was definitely at least a 3.5 out 5 star movie, with terrifying images that you would never expect to see on the big screen without an NC-17 rating. Word on the street was this was suppose to be twice as disturbing. I did not seem to notice that. The first two minutes may be the only odd and unexpected scene in the movie.
The rest of the movie had cheap effects, pointless deaths that could be seen in almost any horror movie, and blue screen angles that were more than obvious. This movie had no relation at all to the first one, there was no feeling for any of the characters and this movie had some of the worse acting I have seen in years. It is also pretty hard to watch characters on screen do stupid pointless mistake after stupid pointless mistake. I mean we are humans because we have the ability to make educated decisions, and this movie took that away from the characters. If this movie should've had at least one thing in its favor going into it, it was that the deaths of the characters should have been down right awesome. Instead your left with two guys getting shot, two guys falling off a cliff, one guy getting pulled through a hole, and then another guy being blown up. This movie had no life, no pulse, and no acting. Even when they had a chance to scare us they use a loud bang from the soundboard of another movie. That is about all. After discussing this with a friend I feel it is only right to give this movie a 0 out of 5. Because anything lower that a 1 would mean the average everyday person could make, and that would take away the Hollywood lure behind the movie. This movie is trash, worthless, and shouldn't even be released to DVD. Don't see it, don't talk about it, don't even think about it.

Choke by Chuck Palahniuk Review
Yes, that is right, I can't get enough of this Chuck guy. I'm really glad I found out about him two months before his anticipated new released of "Rant." I am reading all his past work, and it's pretty damn good. Choke was a story that I definitely should've heard about from somebody years ago. It is twisted, disgusting, revolting, hilarious, and educational. A sandwich with layers you never thought would go together.
It is about a sex addict, whose best friend is also a sex addict, who tries to deal with his ever depressing life by making people think their his hero. Everyday he goes to a different restaurant to choke, almost to death, in order for someone to save him. By doing so, they then fall in love with him and constantly keep in touch while sending money to make sure he is ok. That is just one part of the characters life. He also works at a Colonial Village set in 1734, constantly visits his sick mom, and screws almost anyone.
Palahniuk visits the past of Victor (main character) to construct the reason why he is the way he is. A medical school dropout, ashamed of his mother, and a pathetic loser. Every chapter will turn into four more as you wonder what in the world could possibly happen next. His crazy sexual drive that keeps you turning page after page is topped off with a climax that shakes you in suspense. You will finish Choke only hours after you pick it up for the first time, because you won't be able to put it down. If you want crude, unusual and bizarre behavior, along with some knowledge of the medical world; get this book. 5 out of 5 for Palahniuk and Choke.

Shooter Review
Mark Wahlberg is the only reason I even thought about seeing Shooter, he is really starting to become an enjoyable actor to watch on the big screen. He is the home grown hero in a lot of roles. Deep down we all have that feeling that one day we will probably be called to do something great, a reason for our being. Most of his movies seem to center around that. Shooter is one of those. I conspiracy theory about the government trying to use an scapegoat to make another one of their plans follow through, usually involving money. I am sure a lot of the stuff they discuss and talk about in the movie actually does happen everyday. The cover ups, conspiracy theories, scapegoats, and illegal actions for money.
Shooter starts out with a decent introduction, as any action movie should. Then of course comes the slow part to build up to the climax. Wahlberg's character is a government trained killing machine, and is more patriotic than most presidents, and this is his own downfall. He is offered to help prevent the assassination of a president he doesn't like as he states. Of course he is referring to George Bush, he later obliges and does his duty for the cause. After doing what they wanted him to do, they use the information he found out to assassinate. This back stabbing eventually leads to the his own fight for his life.
The rest of the movie is chase involving one person who was trained by the government who can't be caught by thousands of others who were also trained by the government. Although he does have that one particular sniper skill, this point doesn't make much sense. There is one part were at least 50 agents surround him at a house and he remarkably comes out alive, in good old Rambo fashion. I thought the movie were he played a Philadelphia Eagle was named Invincible.
The best part about this movie is that the topic they cover is all to real in toady's society. This is propaganda at its best against the government and the all too corrupted officials who are in control of our every move. Maybe it was about non-stop action or this could be more of an eye-opener movie for all those pro-war southern people who are guaranteed to see such a movie. If they were thinking of the general audience and trying to get to the point of political corruption by using action and Wahlberg (America's hero) this is a work of genius. Otherwise it is just an average movie, that will probably be on TBS and USA in a few years, every Friday night for years to come.
I do love the fact that Wahlberg is starting to bring Hollywood to Philadelphia. Maybe it was a concidence that of his last few movies, two were centered in Philadelphia. I honestly hope that he keeps playing these roles, and playing them in Philadelphia. Maybe the city is the perfect place for the characters he plays, no-namers who rise to the occasion while sacraficing themselves for the greater good. Props to him on this movie, future roles, and future Philly movies. I must say there is nothing more intriguing then seeing locations that you work at, drive by, walk around in, on the big screen. Being able to relate to art of any sort, is just one part of understanding it.
I give this movie 3 out of 5. Good, not great. Interesting, but nothing new. Yet the concept about corrupt government officals, and how Wahlberg handled them is awesome.

Reign Over Me Review
I had high expectations for this movie after seeing the trailer, then of course there was that last minute review I saw in Rolling Stone magazine by some bastard who probably was too busy eating milk duds and popcorn together to realize the emotional level of this movie mixed in with the comedy. I don't even understand Rolling Stone is a music magazine and the idea behind the movie was that music took away the pain, that it opened up a whole new world to Sandler. I would think that Rolling Stone would have at least endorsed this music movie. Who ever it was, gave the movie one star out of four.
After seeing the movie with my expectations lowered completely because of that review, I thought it was great for the concept it was based around. Adam Sandler (Charlie Fineman) plays the part of a father who lost his whole family in 9-11, and just mopes around the city listening to music. After a government settlement that has left him with millions he just drives around on his little scooter, playing video games and remodeling his kitchen month after month. His old college roommate (Alan Johnson) played by Don Cheadle, sees him one day.
Charlie grows attached to him because Alan brings back the past before the horror in his life. Charlie is just trying the best he can to forget about the past, while his in-laws keep trying to make him not forget by trying to comfort him.
Sandler plays the role magnificently, haunting the viewer at times with his outburst, and causing random moments of laughter. Many of us can relate to Sandler of the level of impact that 9-11 had on us. Making us full of rage and not wanting to think about it at times. Cheadle becomes the buddy that Sandler needs, and vice versa. Alan has a controlling wife, a huge law suit from a psyhco beauty, and partners who have taking advantage of him.
Cheadle and Sandler both deserve notice for their roles in the movie. Making the viewer sympathetic, sad, and even cracking up at times. The movie is a drama, and the climax really brings it home in the court scene. Yet throughout the movie there are conversations and random moments of pure enjoyment that will make you laugh out loud. Sandler captures the heart of the viewer with his child like behavior, almost bringing back memories of those SNL days. You start slowly playing the part of Cheadle and wondering what to do next with your friend that you care for so much.
This movie will touch and tickle you at the same time. Sandler deserves at least a nod at the Oscars next year, and the issue they tackle let's people remember that there are others out there that still suffer. That even though they may be messed up in the head doesn't exactly mean they are crazy. 4 out of 5 for this movie. Go see it on this rainy Saturday, it's worth it.

A 4 Movie weekend
I don't know when the last time there was a weekend that released 2 movies that I actually wanted to see. This weekend will be releasing FOUR movies that will definitly raise the box office ticket sales percentage. The four movies being released are TMNT, Shooter, Hills Have Eyes 2, and Reign Over Me, in no particular order. Each of them unique in their own little way.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will be concentrating on the younger generation, possibly trying to get them caught on turtle craze that was the late 80s, early 90s. With a new look and CGI, this movie could start a spin-off in many industries for the new slender turtles with a hip attitude and new villians.
The Hills Have Eyes promises to be more disturbing and stomach turning than the last one. This is hard to imagine if you saw the first one. It wasn't just the fake blood, and bodies parts flying every where, or even the fact that they ate the humans. It was the scene where they set the dad on fire, and infiltrate the RV raping the daughters, making them watch each other get rape. This is one of those movies you don't want to see, but deep down are begging for more.
Reign Over Me with Don Cheadle and Adam Sandler could take the pot this weekend. Two great actors about two college roommates who run into each other later in life. One is doing just fine, and the other lost everything he had in 9/11.
Shooter will be competeing with Reign Over Me. Mark Wahlberg takes the spotlight in this JFK like set-up of an assination of the president. After barely escaping he comes back with a venegenace. A little Die Hard, Terminator, and JFK all in one.
300- Don't forget.
I suggest Reign Over Me, Hills Have Eyes, TMNT, Shooter in that order....this rank is not based one which one is better, its based content.
My bet for the weekend is this
March 23, Openings
Shooter with 35 million
Reign Over Me at 33 million
300 at 20 million
TMNT at 18 million
Hills Have Eyes at 10 million

Apple vs Microsoft Round 2: Operating Systems
Round 2 Operating Systems, Windows vs Mac OS X
1. Windows is the made it possible for the everyday person to own a personal computer, and also easy to use. Microsoft 1 point
2. Macs have a clean layout with a slick look and futuristic feeling, and always seem to be one upping Windows with different ideas. 1 point Apple
3. Widgets. 1 point Apple
4. Although it rarely happens as much, Windows is much more likely to freeze or crash, yet Apple builds up much attention on the fact that they never crash or anything to that sort. MacBookPro.....all the time, weird Chinesse handwriting comes up with English underneath telling me to hold down the power key. That's weird. Even
5. Dashboard and Expose features on Macs. 1 point Apple
6. It's nice to know where your files are located, and although Windows has organized their files pretty well recently; OS X has got them beat on this. There are like 10 folders in all. 1 point Apple
7. Features that come with a Mac are shown off quite a lot---> iMovie, iPhoto, iTunes, iDvd, GarageBand, Photo Booth, and iChat...Windows also has a bunch of stuff that some may over look. Overall you might get about 20 more programs with a PC, stuff that you would rarely use, and if so you would probably want to buy a more professional version. PC's programs are like advertisments. You will realize this if you get a medium or low price one and around 1 million different random applications and advertisments on it. Macs have got them beat on this part though. 3 points Apple
8. Macs have what you need and no extra junk when you start it up. 1 point Apple
9. Windows have a picture viewer that opens up quickly and allows for you to scan through the pictures in that folder without having to open a whole large program with all your pictures in it. 1 point Microsoft
10. You can customize Windows and make it fit for you. 1 points Microsoft
11. All programs run on Windows. 1 points Microsoft
12. Right-click?----- 1 point Microsoft
13. Macs aren't prone to many viruses, if any at all. 2 points Apple
14. Microsoft Vista has a lot of OS X features that they brag about. 2 points Apple
15. Microsoft is the standard setting for all of us, and Office is great. 2 points Microsoft (Please don't ask about OpenOffice this does not involve Linux)
16. Copy and paste on a Mac...Forget about it. Microsoft 1 point
17. Installition on Macs...what is that about. Microsoft 1 point
18. Where are all the applications. Microsoft 1 point
19. I grew up on Windows, now have a Mac with OS X....it crashes quite a lot, freezes once a week, and iPhoto takes around 5 minutes to load everytime. Every program slows down when I click on things or when I copy and paste. I understand its the new Intel/MacBookPro, but for the price I paid it should fly threw programs like nothing I have ever seen, it also has the power to do so. Yet, my PC with half the power renders special effects and picture images just as fast. ??? Weird. 2 points Microsoft.
20. Macs are easier to use concept...I don't think so. 1 point Microsoft.
13 points Microsoft Windows 12 points Apple OS X
Winner Microsoft, barely

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Trailer FINALLY
It is finally here, after months of endless waiting. The second most anticipated movie of the year's trailer out. Pirates of the Caribbean at World's End. It is gloriously stunning with visual effects that will have us drooling for days after it comes out in May. The 360 spin-around of Davy Jones and Captain Jack Sparrow sword fighting on top of a mast in the middle of the ocean is something worth looking at a couple of times over in the trailer. This movie may steal the glory away from the other two in good old pirate fashion.

Apple vs Microsoft Round 1: Movie Maker vs iMovie
You've seen the commercials, you've heard about the hype, and you're wondering which one is really better. Well, I wil be doing my best in order to explain which is better over the course of a next few weeks. Apple vs Microsoft.
Movie Maker vs iMovie
Thanks to youtube, bolt, and now myspace; we all love making custom videos. They are pretty easy to do, and not too time consuming if done right. I recently bought a MacBookPro in order to make higher quality videos. Thinking that with all the hype I have been hearing about Macs that iMovie must be the next wave of the future. I was planning on eventually turning my gears towards Final Cut Express, but oh wait Apple doesn't tell you that they don't have Final Cut Express for Intel/Macs, nor do they tell you it's not the easiest thing in the world to use on a laptop. Anyway I started using iMovie and I regretted not just upgrading my PC with all the money I had spent on MacBookPro. Here is why
1. Movie Maker allows you to choose how many megabytes per a second of film you want to use. For example: A higher quality video will probably use up about a gig for every two minutes, if you want to call it higher quality, it really all depends on the camera you are using. Making the file use up more gigs won't really do much for the quality of the video. iMovie just assumes you have the largest hard drive in the world and starts to import your video with only three options of quality. It doesn't say how much space per second of footage you will be using. Trust me it's so much I have to delete every 40 mins of footage I use to make a 5 minute video. I still have all my extra footage from all my old videos on my PC. Probably over 10 hours worth. The quality isn't even that much different either. 2 points Microsoft. 1 for choice of settings with explanation, 1 for the little amount of space needed.
2. Movie Maker allows you to slice clips in a simple process, and it will also allow you to have the clips on hand once they are inserted into the movie. iMovie automatically adds those clips to the field and if you want your original footage saved as a whole you will either have to copy and paste all the films into another project, or just reload it. Something you DON'T have the time to do with the Macs copy and paste speed for these huge files.Once you slice a clip, if you can figure out how to in iMovie, everything is messed up and out of order. If its added to the main project you better copy it and add it back to the field so that you don't lose it if you really like it. 3 points Microsoft. 1 for keeping the film intact. 1 for simple slice tool. 1 for not making you have to redownload your project, or copy and paste a whole other version to keep it on hand.
3. iMovie does have a simple layout, with a comforting display of where everything is. The options are all there, and it's quite easy to find out where is what for effects, and speed. They also allow different degrees of speed and to apply reverse to your editing. Movie Maker's lay out is bit more difficult to understand, you really have to figure it out to know what you are doing. 2 points for Apple. 1 point for different degrees of speed and effects. 1 point for layout and display of program.
4. When the movie is completed you want to be able to publish it with as little memory as possible, and as fast as possible. iMovie will not allow this to happen, you need lots of space for a reasonably good view of the movie. Moviemaker will allow for the video to be shown with little space used. Moviemaker does take awhile though to make the movie complete, while iMovie get's it done pretty fast when everything is already finished. Even. iMovie is faster at loading it, but uses way more space to save the file.
5. Freezing? Movie Maker will freeze on you, and you will lose a great deal, it is rough choppy and will cause you more problems then you need if you are using any other files. iMovie is a pain with rendering and adding other files to it, but nothing compared to the agony one will suffer when losing all their footage. 1 point for Apple for not crashing.
6. The completed project will look better with iMovie, but with Movie Maker there are many more options and surprisingly if you know what you are in both programs it is easier to use Movie Maker. Even, Movie Maker is eaiser, better looking with iMovie.
I haven't used the new Vista Movie Maker yet, but I can probably bet it is much better than the last Movie Maker I was using so I could even eliminate the crashing from it. There may be a lot more other features in it, but I haven't used it so I will not account for it in the overall point total.
Microsoft's Movie Maker wins 5-3. If you use any these programs for at least 5 videos each, you will agree. Today Microsoft is the Champion.

Diary by Chuck Palahniuk Reviewed
After reading Haunted, I was hooked on Palahniuk. I already know what to expect, when I go into reading his next book now, after reading Haunted, Diary and watching Fight Club. He is one sick twisted bastard who uses his knowledge of the world, history, and biology to make the Diary come to life. Starting off leaving the reader confused, the Diary gets you attached to it. The plot is twisted even though through-out the whole book he is hinting at what is really going to happen. All the signs, and warnings are everywhere, yet you will be more than dumbfounded when the conclusion takes place. The reading is pretty easy aside from bits of medical jargon describing face muscles during the novel. Palahniuk puts you right there with the main character with his vivid use of words that make the story grab you by the neck and bring you into it. Having a fascination with seashore towns myself, and antipathy for all artist who wallow in their own self-pity, I loved this book. It was a short read for my quick spring break. The events that occur throughout the novel are confusing, but enough to just want to keep reading on. A mystery novel with out any non-sense about detective work. He uses supreme knowledge when explaining certain situations or occurences, especially when it came to where they got certain colors of paint from in order to pain the Sistine Chapel. This novel almost seems real when he goes over and over the fact that most people only truly accomplish something when they suffer. I don't want to give away anymore, go pick up Diary by Palahniuk, 4.5 out of 5. I took .5 off because it is a little far fetched.

Main Web page update, along with Prank calls
Check out the main losttosociety page for a complete update of the whole site. Two new sections have been added.
They are prank calls, keep in mind that some are old ones, and the newer ones are when the person is looking at the caller ID the number is manipulated to appear as someone else's, and most of the time that number is their house line while they are home. Someone sent me these pranks, I have no clue who though.
The other update was for the 3rd Gallery and it is a completely different concept of pictures than the last two Galleries.
Check it all out here:

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Trailer News and Cartman Sucks Review
This just in, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End much anticipated trailer will finally premiere this Monday March 19. Tune into "Dancing with the Stars," Monday night between 8-10pm to watch it. I suggest just go online later that night for it.
Here is something to get your saliva flowing.
Cartman Sucks Review
South Park made another great one tonight. "Cartman Sucks," it wasn't the best but the concept was hilarious and the ending was just perfect. The catalog of photos that Cartman was showing to Stan and Kyle in the beginning makes fun of all those with facebook and myspace picture of their drunken friends who think their photographers, like me. I love this show, it's always great. The gay camp with Butters was even better. That makes me wonder what ever happen to Tweak. Well this episode wasn't the best so I say a 3.5 out of 5. That is for a South Park show, it's skewed to the left because it wasn't what they normally live up to. If it was compared to other shows on TV I'd give it a 4 out of 5.

New South Park and Lost tonight
New South Park tonight at 10, along with Lost.
South Park is centered around Eric Cartman tonight. Should be pretty good, the title is "Cartman Sucks," and Butters has to go to a camp, where they pray the gay way. Don't miss out. I can guarantee this one is going to be good.
Lost will be on tonight at 10 as well. I suggest you watch South Park, then catch up with Lost online at abc.com in the morning or something.

Phillies in 2007, and Top 10 Cartoons
The Philadelphia Phillies are finally a team to beat, a team with power, and a team with PITCHING. This is the first time we have a had team that is up for contention, and knows it, in years. A leader is what they want, and Jimmy Rollins has stepped up. A homerun hitter is what they need, and Ryan Howard has come to the plate. A clutch hitter with speed, and skill to make people cheer everytime the ball comes into his vacinity, and they wil rise for Chase Utley. Starting pitchers that will finally bring fear into the eyes of the enemy, and a closer to shut them down for good. This year my friends the Phillies are the team to beat.

Cell PHONES
The 21st Century has led to some great technology while annoying us with improvements. Cell phones are the biggest annoyance I can image in our world of a zippy-zappy lifestyle. We all do the same thing, but there are those that go over the edge with them and it really makes me want to say RUTFME?
1. Those people that text and text and text, just fucking call you sh*thead.
2. People with really loud annoying ringtones, and to top that off, they take a good 3 minutes to answer it.
3. When you are in a quiet place, and you're afraid to even cough, but the jerk next to you is having life long conversation at the decibel level of a jet engine.
4. Driving behind someone one with a cell phone, and then they look at you like your the one in wrong when you go to past them.
5. MOVIES and CLASSROOMS, ok I can understand when cell phone were just starting to get big, we weren't use to them yet, and some of them actually didn't have vibrate options so you had to have the noise on. Well it's been like 8 years since that and if you don't know how to turn your volume off, everyone should stare at you and throw what's in their hands at you the second you answer it.
6. People who take pictures and videos of every little thing around them, yea that big fat pervert in the mall sending pictures to his Dungeons and Dragons friends, of girls he is walking behind.
7. Those people who just don't know how to use them
8. The one who thinks its ok to put it on speaker phone
9. That guy talking to himself, into his bluetooth. I thought he was talking to me.
10. Those people that let the whole ring go through so that they can hear their favorite song.

Haunted book Review and 2006 Movies
I just finished the book Haunted by Chuck Palahniuk today. I expected so much more after I read the first story, but it's still a pretty decent read thereafter. It's the Canterbury Tales mixed in with Clue. The whole book keeps you attached, even though the main story is kind of goofy. Each side story will keep you wanting to read on and on to see just how twisted and messed up their lives really are. Is it worth the read? This is definitely worth reading. The detailed descriptions of gruesome scenes used by Palahniuk, will make anyone feel sick in the stomach for days. If disturbing and demented is what you want, with a funny spin on things, this is your book. 4 out of 5.

300 Full Review
From the second I heard about the Battle of Thermopylae about 8 years ago, I have always looked for different sorts of information on it. About a year ago my roommate was reading the novel "Hot Gates," which describes in great detail the battle of 300 vs over one million plus. Whether or not there was more that one million is up for speculation, still there was at least a force that had the overwhelming advantage against these 300. What a story I thought, but where were the movies. There is one that was made in the early 60s. It's more for Mystery Scienece Theater 3000 then for anything else. Back to about a year ago, that is when I first saw the online journals of 300 being posted. It had my attention ever since, I would watch the trailer over and over, slowing it down to try and figure some of the plot out. I couldn't wait for the day it came out. The last few weeks reviews were coming in, and I was excitied to hear all these good things up until about a week ago. That is when a bunch of bad reviews came in, yet they really had no explanation for their reviews. Here is mine:
The movie starts of with a little history, and although it is not completely accurate, it is still a story worth telling. The life of a Spartan is rather interesting to many people. First there are a few things to keep in mind when seeing this movie. One is wasn't made to be historically accurate, two it is going to have a lot of men with there shirts off to go with the comic by Frank Miller (at least there not naked like in his comic), three CGI is a big thing in this because almost all the scenes were shot inside, and four the blood is suppose to look more like a comic book style than reality.
With that in mind ENJOY. The battle scenes are superior in quality, moving in slow motion across the battle without switching camera angles, or showing close ups of unknown body parts. This is something to take note of, whenever you see a battle movie, or fight scene they always switch angles or show something move really fast at a weird close up view. They don't do this in 300, and that is one sign on how remarkable this movie is. There is one scene where Leonidas comes out and the camera follows him from the side just destroying Persians. From slow-motion, to fast-motion you become a part of the story.
The visuals must have taking some time to develop, the coffee stain clouds are one of the key elements that stand out in this masterpiece. Then there is the shadow effect of the story. It seems more like a dreamworld when you are watching it. You know the sight of someone with light shinning on just one side of their body. The way the head decapitations occur will make you cringe in horror, and jump for joy with the stunning clarity of bones and guts spewing everywhere.
Now there are a few flaws I did notice. One was the way the have the green-screen all the time. There is one scene with Leonidas chatting with the Oracales, and it looks as if they cut and paste him in there. Then if you notice in some scenes it is completely dark all around, and Leonidas has reflections in his eyes that make it look as if he is looking into a bunch of lights or even the sun itself.
Besides that the movie is a masterpiece. Take note of this as I describe what I mean by masterpiece. It is a work of art that transforms the industry, goes above and beyond expectations, breaks the accepted norm, does something so different that others will soon follow after they realize the greatness of it, captures the imagination of an everyday person, and is talk about for generations. That is what a masterpiece is. This movie does all that and more if you ask me. It was made to appease the comic of Frank Miller, throws in a little salt and spice with the CGI, and few additional characters, then gets a supreme performance from some of the best unknown actors around. These guys went all out, and they deserve some recoginiton. Let us applaud Gerard Butler, Zack Snyder, Lena Headey, Dominic West, David Wenham, Vincent Regan, Michael Fassbender, Tom Wisdom, and all the others. I could go on and on for days about this movie, but I want to watch it again so I gotta split.

Arcade Fire, Linkin Park, and Nine Inch Nails NEWS
Arcade Fire has just released their much anticipated sophomore album titled Neon Bible. I am not the biggest fan of Indie music, but I did enjoy Funeral. Funeral blew everyone out of the water, it was their first album with all these strange sounds and lyrics. Now they have all the hype with their second album. Listening over it a few times, because no one can enjoy a song the first time they hear it, the music starts playing thoughts in my head. When figures in my head start dancing to music, that’s when I know it’s good. Although I must say, not all these songs are new. I had Intervention on my I-pod for a 18 months now, and No Cars Go is from Funeral. The magic behind Arcade Fire is their use of different instruments, meaningful lyrics, and two different singers. The songs I suggest you listen to are Intervention, Antichrist Television Blues, The Well and The Lighthouse, and Black Waves/ Bad Vibrations. Maybe if they lowered some of the instruments, worked on tweaking the sound, took out No Cars Go, and added a three more songs; it would be perfect. If you like church music with an echo in the background you’re going to love My Body is Cage. Rumor has it that they had 100 songs under different no-name bands on myspace sites, and the ones that got the most positive reviews were used on Neon Bible. I give the album 4 out of 5; Funeral was a 5 out of 5. Check out their whacky website here.
Linkin Park will be releasing their 3rd album May 15th 2007, called Minutes from Midnight. It was reported on their myspace site only a few minutes before midnight before it was taking down. A single titled, “What I’ve Done,” will be released on April 2nd.
Nine Inch Nails will also be coming out with a new album called Year Zero, set for a release date of April 17th, 2007. Their single, “Survivalism,” has already been heard on the nation's airwaves. If this song is any indication of what the album may hold, it could be very promising.

Haunted is Haunting
23 pages into the book Haunted, and I admit, I am greatly disturbed already. The book is suppose to get more extreme with each story, and I am starting to fear what lies ahead, if the first few pages are this squeamish. I am saying this so that you jump on the bandwagon now. This book is like a horrible car crash, you know you want to look away, but you also want to see some blood. Also take note that anyone who can be creative enough to write something like Fight Club, deserves to have their others works looked at.

From the sky.....3 days left to 300
Do you love crazy, out of this world pictures that you would never ever expect to see on a normal site, and are actually G-rated. Check this site out for a quick fix of you daily internet craving. Sky Pics
Another thing to keep in mind is that 300 comes out in 3 days...Yes, that is right 3 more days until the much anticpated movie of the year finally gets released worldwide.
Philly fans------- this may be the year.
Ryan Howard, Chase Utley, Jimmy Rollins, Aaron Rowand, Chris Coste, Shane Victorino, Pat Burrell, Wes Helms, and finally some picthers that could actually do something. First time since I have been a Phillies fan that we got at least 5 starters let alone 6. That means Freddy Garcia, Cole Hamels, Brett Myers, Jon Lieber, Adam Eaton, and Jamie Myers will have to actually compete for a spot on the starters list.
Dates that mean something
Sunday April 29, vs Marlins-------> Phanatic Bobble-Head
May 11-13 Chicago Cubs at Home
Wednesday May 16 vs Brewers----> Ryan Howard MVP Bobble-Head
Sunday June 3, vs Gaints----------> Shane Victorino Hula Figurine
June 11-13 Chicago White Sox at Home
June 15-17 Detriot Tigers at Home
July 13-15 St.Louis Cardinals at Home
Wednesday July 25, vs Nationals---> Cole Hamels Christmas in July Bobble-Head
September 25-27 Atlanta Braves at Home
Here is a cool way to get some ideas on how to shoot roads for those curious, and creative photographers

Zodiac Review
Americans have grown use to 90 minute movies, 120 minutes are sustainable, but anything over 150 minutes better be downright entertaining in every aspect to keep our short term attention span. We our a society that wants instant pleasure, and gratificaiton. Now when a movie comes out that is listed at 160 minutes long, there better be at least an intermission. This all leads to the drug out, endless, no conclusion movie. I mean if we are going to have a movie that is over 2 and half hours long there better be a damn conclusion. Sorry if I ruined it for you, but it is pretty much general knowledge if you were even at all interested in the whole Zodiac craze, that the killer was never actually caught. Ok, now that I have complained enough about the time span let's get into the movie. Jake Gyllenhaal and Robert Downey Jr., play splendid parts. Both are perfect for their roles, Glyllenhaal plays the obessed cartoonist, Robert Graysmith who the whole story is focused around. Robert Downey Jr. is the alcoholic journalist (Paul Avery) who's life pretty much falls apart becaues of the Zodiac case. The first hour is pretty entertaining, leaving out the opening scene with the jazz music in the background that makes you just want to go buy a $6.00 soda just to throw it at the screen. The zodiac case is interesting from the start but goes down hill quite fast just like the movie. The first few years and cases are intriguing, but then the killer stops, and all the people involved with the case become affected mentally as you will to after the second hour. After the first 90 minutes it just starts to circle around the dreadful lives of those who became obsessed with the case. Unless you are a Zodiac crazy as well, there is no need to sit down and watch this movie for that long. Cut out one hour, most from the end, and this movie gets a 4.5 out of 5. I give it a 3 out of 5. I hope Fincher realizes that even the most intense movies with hardcore battles can be too long, this has no action and too many slow, unimportant scenes.
300 seconds on 300, and some other good stuff
Yesterday I received a video in reponse to RUTFME, this is a fan's way of applying "Are you titty f**king me," in everyday use. I would like to thank the fan for sending me this footage and it's actually pretty good use of the term in everyday life.
As for something even more amazing I have come across footage of 300 seconds for the movie 300. What a treat it is my good friends, it's in the middle of one of the more intense battle scenes of the movie.
Also Rage Against Machine has officially come back together for at least one concert with Wu-Tang around July. Hopefully this could lead to some albums, and more rebellious antics against the government.
